Indie Research

On http://www.guardian.co.uk/ I have found questions and answers written by the 'Indie Professor'.

I have found this of interest because it gives someone else's opinions on indie and also it is interesting to see what sorts of questions people ask in reference to the indie genre. Not all the questions and answers are based on indie but many of them are.

One particular one of interest was

'Ask the indie professor: Are gender stereotypes still present in indie music?' - http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2010/sep/01/gender-stereotypes-indie-music.

This was of interest because I was unaware that there were stereotypes to music in the case of indie as a genre as it is written and produced by both males and females, however it is dominated by males (paragraph 2) and therefore it is stereotyped to males although the gap between males and females is decreasing.
