Audience research - Radio stations

There are very few radio stations that I have been able to find which play indie music the in UK.
BBC's 6 Music is one radio station which plays indie music. The viewing figures are displayed in the image below.

 Another UK radio station where indie is sometimes played is on radio 1 during the Huw Stephens' shows - for example The Neat Session (a link to this cannot be given or to any other show due to iplayer only allowing radio programmes to stay online for 7 days.) Radio 1 has many listeners with 7 million aged 16-25.

It was interesting to find out that there are dedicated channels to indie in other countries such as the US. The list below shows where else in the world and on what channels indie can be listened to.
Channels include:

• CBC radio 3
• Indie 1031 - LA
• FM 101 - Hongkong
• Folk radio - UK

These findings are important as they give me a better idea of how many people listen to the radio station that plays our genre and therefore how many people listen to the genre, which gives a better idea of those who would enjoy our video.
